The swing mid tube clamp is almost done.
It looks like a simple part and really it is but it is fairly complex to fabricate this sort of thing without big shop tools. I sorta miss my CNC machine but I sold it years ago.
Even if I had a lathe and mill it it would still take quite a while to fabricate something like this. The big difference is that a hand formed item like this is not nearly as pretty as something that would be cut on a CNC but it will get the job done.
In any case the clamp needs some clean up but most of the hard work is complete. With this clamp in place the swing tube will be plenty strong plus we can split the tube to install the rear headset.
